Jamieson, Phillip AAIA
Chairman and CEO, Director

Phillip qualified as an Accountant in November 1982 and is a member of the Association of International Accountants, a body identified in the UK Companies Act 1989 as a Reporting Accountant for a corporate entity. He had a successful career in financial management in the United Kingdom until 1989. His experience included Group Accountant in the Manufacturing Industry (Ceramics and Engineering), Financial Director in the Retail Motor Trade, and latterly International Accountant for Granada Group working in Germany, England and Canada. In 1989, Philip moved to Canada to take up the Chief Financial Officer role for Granada Canada Ltd based in Etobicoke. Following a strategic decision by the UK parent of Granada Group to sell Granada Canada Ltd, Philip headed up a management team that successfully raised $77M to acquire Granada Canada Ltd. Philip was appointed President, CEO and CFO and successfully ran Granada from 1991 to 1997. He chairs Semcan’s board.

Conn, Ian Lorne Thompson
Independent Director

 
Ian has lived and worked in 17 countries during the last 30+ years. In May, 2002, Ian retired as the President, CEO and Chairman of Thomas Group Asia Pacific Ltd., Thomas Group Hong Kong Ltd., and Thomas Group China Ltd., a Business Process Consulting firm. He has spent over 12 years of his working life in the Asia Pacific region.  He has also lived in Europe, Canada and the United States of America, and worked within many different industries and Global enterprises. He was active for over 10 years as a Senior Member of the Thomas Group Inc. in Dallas, Texas. Ian provided operational consultancies to improve the competitiveness of clients through business process improvements, such as Siemens (Germany), Philips (The Netherlands), EDS (USA), Universal Instruments (USA), Johnson Electric (HK & China),The Esquel Group of Companies (HK & China), Trisate (HK), Clipsal (HK & China), Hengan International (China), I Limited (HK & Japan), ASAT (HK), VSC (HK & China), Singapore Technology, a Temasek Holding Group in Singapore.

Since his retirement from Thomas Group in May, 2002, Ian has been involved as an Executive Coach and Advisor to CEOs in Asia / Mainland China, France and Australia; and as an Advisor to the Boards of Johnson Electric, The Esquel Group of Companies, I Limited and Hengan International.

Ian was also appointed as an independent non-executive director and a member of the Audit Committee of the Johnson Electric Group on 1st May, 1999 and until March, 2004.  He has also served on the Boards of HudBay Minerals Inc (Canada) from December 23rd, 2004 until June 30th, 2005; and with Cynophar, a French pharmaceutical firm from May, 2000 until November, 2004. He is currently an independent director and advisor to Semcan Inc. a Canadian holding company of several Operational Companies.

He currently serves as an independent non-executive member and advisor to the Board of I Limited, a Hong Kong based fashion enterprise; an advisor to the CEO of Bandwidth Foundry Pty Ltd.(Australia); and as an advisor to the Institute of Management Consultants of Hong Kong. He is also a member of the Hong Kong Canadian Chamber of Commerce and participates on the China sub-committee of the HKCCC.

Ian obtained his Engineering degree from Queen’s University, Ontario, Canada and  Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada.  He resides in Dallas, Toronto, and Hong Kong and is both an American and a Canadian Citizen.

O'Hearn, Ron
Director

Ron O’Hearn held the position of President of Semco Systems since its purchase from Texas-based Keystone International in 1985.  Prior to that he was responsible for the original start-up of Keystone International’s Semco (Canada) Division in 1969 and served as its Vice-President. Earlier in his career Mr. O’Hearn held various positions with Keystone (Canada), including its start-up. He has been appointed by Semcan Board as Director.

 Remy, Stachowiak
Director

Remy Stachowiak, B.A.Sc., M.Eng, P.Eng joined the Semcan group in November 2008 and is the President and CEO of Stanco Projects Limited. Remy joined us from Siemens and has extensive experience both in Canada and Internationally. He has had global success in the sale of complex municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment solutions to high profile end-users, consultants and contractors, from project selling through to execution. Regions of his experience include North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Remy has a strong technical background in mechanical engineering and environmental technology, including over 11 years in water and wastewater treatment. He was appointed to the board of Semcan Inc. in April 2009.



 
Wilby, John
CFO, Semcan Inc.

John Wilby has over 20 years of senior financial experience. Among the highlights of his career were the posts of CFO of Soroc Technology Inc. and Moneysworth & Best Shoe Repair Inc.  He is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University. 





Frank, Terry
VP Sales and Marketing; Engineering and Design

Terry graduated in 1982 with a Civil Engineering Technician Diploma from Humber College. He has spent the last 25 years in sales, starting with Hayward Gordon as a Regional Sales Manager for fluid mixing and pumping systems. In 1985 he took charge of the Canadian sales for the US-based Littleford Day Inc., before moving on to the role of National Technical Sales Manager for the German firm Lodige Process Technology Inc. in 2001. In July 2007 he was appointed the V.P. of Sales & Marketing for Semco Systems Limited by the Semcan board. Terry brings in extensive experience in developing new markets for the technologies that he has overseen.

Skirrow, Paul
COO, Engineering and Design

Paul’s career started in the construction industry upon qualification in 1983 in heavy equipment operation and construction practices. A downturn in the sector prompted him to seek further training, and in 1988, he graduated as maintenance electrician. Paul joined Semco in 1992 as Installation Manager and quickly rose to the post of Regional Sales Manager. His professional path with the company progressed with stints as Process Specialist and Director of Operations thanks to his ability to get projects completed on time and on budget. Semcan Board has recently appointed Paul as Chief Operating Officer.

Hobbs, Don
Vice President

Don is President of Stanco Projects Ltd, handling contract administration, engineering and corporate matters. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto in 1967 and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC.

Clarke, Dave
Vice President

Dave is Vice-President of Sales and Marketing of Stanco Projects Ltd. Most of his time is taken up by product negotiations and liaising with company sales agents. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from the University of Toronto in 1967 and went on to enhance his professional qualification by joining AWWA, WEF and CIM.

John runs Stanco Projects Ltd’s Liquid and Construction Divisions, backed by 30 years of experience in the field of tank manufacturing and installation. He holds a Diploma in Agriculture from New Zealand.
